Architectural Installation

Sikka Art Fair

Collaborator: Farah Al Amin

Draped pays homage to the historical forms, traditions, and crafts of the MENA region. A formal experiment in a public fixture, it offers multiple gathering configurations, with individual seating pods and a collective central sanctuary-like space that exhibits both old and new traditions.
The concept of floor seating derives from a long-standing tradition, echoing the rich heritage of tapestry and carpet making. The form itself pays tribute to historical arches and vaults, presented in a new interpretation.

The installation was digitally fabricated and manually assembled on-site. The work was selected through an open call to local artists/designers and exhibited at Sikka Art Fair in Dubai.
